Organizational Context

 The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Sub Office Associate Protection Officer covering Endabaguna Screening and Reception center, and in close collaboration with the Protection Officer (Child) based in Shire. He/she has to show an ability to engage and form effective working relationship with implementing partners and any other relevant child protection actors, local authorities and refugees.

 Responsibilities

 

  • Contribute at field level child protection plan as part of the protection strategy.
  • Contribute at field level education, livelihood plan as part of the protection strategy
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and evaluation of protection related AGD based programming with implementing and operational partners.
  • Contribute to effective information management through the provision of disaggregated data on populations of concern and their problems Conduct BIA and BIDs for individual children and ensure that the best interests of the children is the underlying principle in the CP partners case management programmes
  • Conduct training for the partners staff, refugee community and children in CP and related areas;

  • Support the tracing and reunification mechanisms for UAC and SC with CP partners, with effective coordination between the Registration centre to Camps, between camps and within the camps

 

Essential Minimum Qualifications and Experience

 Education:

  • Education: Completion of high diploma and additional certificate/training in International    Law, Political Science or related field is required
  • Fluency in English and working knowledge of another relevant UN language or local language.

Job experience:

  • Job experience: Relevant to the function: 6 years.
  • Previous experience performing, general protection or child protection function in Shire refugee context will be considered as asset.
