Organizational Context
The UNHCR Sub-Office in Melkadida is planning to undertake a comprehensive Level-3
Registration Exercises in the five (5) Refugee Camps named Buramino, Helaweyn, Kobe,
Melkadida and Bokolmanyo
Under the direct supervision of the Associate Data Management Officer, the Electrician
Assistant will be responsible for the proper operation of the generator and that electricity is
available in all rooms and in reach of all laptops, scanners and other equipment used in the
exercise. He will also be responsible that proper lighting is provided in all rooms as each of
the data processing staff will be capturing photos of the refugees being interviewed.
Duties and Responsibilities




Installation of electrical systems in Registration centres for the comprehensive level 3
registration exercise in all camps under Melkadida Sub Office;
Manage the installation, maintenance, monitoring of electrical equipment and energy;
Keep a proper inventory of all electrical equipment and material in all sites and as well
as spares and returns spare parts for repair/replacement;
Perform any task or other related activity as required.
Authority

Refer cases to other units within the office and to implementing partners as necessary
Essential Minimum Qualifications and Experience



Educational: Completion of Secondary Education with a post-secondary/certification
or its equivalent in a technical or professional institution with course work or training
in Information Technology, Telecommunications or similar field with certification on
IT systems;
Languages: Good communications skills in English is essential (written and spoken),
Knowledge of local language is an asset;
Job Experience: Electrical installation, Hands-on experience in the sector of
conventional and green power generation (diesel generator, wind, solar) is an asset.
